En el marc del projecte «PhasAGE: Excellence Hub on Phase Transitions in Aging and Age-Related Disorders», el Grup de Plegament de Proteïnes i Malalties Conformacionals de l’Institut de Biotecnologia i de Biomedicina (IBB) celebra del 12 al 16 de setembre la primera edició de la «Barcelona Protein Aggregation Training School». La trobada permetrà a una trentena de joves investigadors aprofundir en el coneixement sobre el procés d’agregació de proteïnes, implicat en moltes malalties relacionades amb l’envelliment. La «Barcelona Protein Aggregation Training School» forma part del projecte «PhasAGE: Excellence Hub on Phase Transitions in Aging and Age-Related Disorders», una xarxa internacional sobre biologia molecular i malalties relacionades amb l'edat creada per augmentar

Jornades Societat Catalana de Biologia – -micro and nanoplastics pollution: putting an eye on the mediterranean area.

Organized by Nerea Roher and Mariana Teles within the Aquaculture Section of the Catalan Society of Biology, will take place in IEC. The aim of this conference is to create a link between the entire Catalan scientific community which, from a very broad perspective, work on the effects of pollution by micro- and nanoplastics in both ecosystems and trophic networks and in health. animal and human.

We will be receiving an international visit at the IBB, under an Erasmus+ mobility grant, from Thamil Selvee, Head of the Stem Cell Biology Laboratory at the Universiti Malaya in Malaysia. You can also have a look at her full CV here. She will be hosted by Esther Vázquez. The visit at the IBB and other institutions will take place during the 4th-8th of April 2022.  Benefiting from the occasion, Thamil will give us all a seminar at the Aula IBB on April 6th 12.30 pm on the topic: Role of Stem Cells in Regenerative Medicine and Cancer Biology.
